Run unattended.
Run with confidence.
High-throughput clinical laboratories depend on continuous, reliable automation to deliver fast turnaround times. However, when analyzing hydrophobic analytes, glass surfaces are essential for ensuring accurate, reproducible results.
Until now, using glass in automated workflows has relied on workarounds - such as glass vials or inserts in polypropylene plates. These setups can increase the risk of alignment issues during automated liquid handling, leading to interrupted or failed runs. The result: re-runs, downtime, and lost productivity—especially during unattended overnight operations.
Introducing the
Pure-Pass GLC plate
To address these challenges, Trajan developed the Pure-Pass™ GLC™ plate. Featuring a glass-like coating in a standard plate format, it delivers the performance of glass while maintaining full compatibility with automated workflows - enabling more reliable automation, fewer interruptions and higher productivity. Pure-Pass GLC plates, give you the confidence to run overnight.
No glass vials. No plate inserts.
No interruptions – just higher productivity.

Constant bore explained
A constant bore emitter maintains a uniform internal diameter right to the tip, eliminating abrupt constrictions that can disrupt fluid dynamics. This streamlined design promotes smooth, laminar flow, minimizes turbulence, and reduces sites for particle buildup — significantly lowering the risk of clogging.
The outcome is fewer interruptions, fewer reruns, and consistently higher throughput for demanding workflows.
Explore the key benefits that matter most
Maximize recoveries
Glass-like coating improves analytical recovery of hydrophobic analytes that readily adsorb to plastic surfaces.
Drive higher productivity
Keep high-throughput systems running day and night with fewer interruptions and workflow disruptions.
Lower cost per sample
Fewer run interruptions and failed runs reduce user intervention, improve throughput and minimize the need for costly re-runs.
Confidence in results
Glass‑like coating in a standard ANSI/SLAS plate format minimizes misalignment and pipetting errors, delivering accurate, reproducible data.
ANSI/SLAS standardized plate format
Seamless integration with existing robotic systems – no workflow changes or expensive reprogramming required.
"Trajan’s Pure-Pass GLC well plates have transformed our automated workflow for challenging samples. By eliminating plate-to-vial transfers, we streamlined automation and reduced handling steps. Removing glass vials also minimized misalignments and prevented needle damage, cutting instrument downtime and improving lab productivity"

No. Pure-Pass GLC well plates retain simplicity of use and sturdiness of the polypropylene material. Standard precaution and care should be applied, but the glass-like coating does not require any special handling.
Yes. A unique barcode is applied to each well plate to help sample tracking and management.
Pure-Pass GLC well plates are translucent, but they are not designed for imaging and biology applications.
Pure-Pass GLC well plates are used for sample storage and processing for chromatography and analytical applications in clinical monitoring, pharma, biopharma, food and environmental applications.
Pure-Pass GLC well plates are particularly useful for high-throughput workflows where polypropylene plates are not suitable. GLC glass-like surface technology ensures minimal interaction with samples.
Unlike glass vials or glass inserts, ANSI/SLAS compliance of the Pure-Pass GLC well plates enables standardize robotic handling and liquid transfers reducing manual intervention. Result is a consumable product that integrates seamlessly with your automated workflow and consistent results.
The Pure-Pass GLC well plates are generally suitable for use with aqueous and acidic aqueous/solvent mixtures, such as utilized in reverse phase LC-MS applications where hydrophobic analytes may bind to untreated polypropylene surfaces.
Plates are generally suitable with solvents that do not swell polypropylene, but application specific validations is recommended for use with solvents.
Pure-Pass sealing mats offers excellent chemical resistance of silicone, but they are specially processed to reduce sample contamination by low bleed extractables. Plasma coating reduces natural tackiness of silicone easier for handling and additional protection from contaminants adhering to silicone. Each mat has an alphanumeric grid reference for sample tracking. Result is lower risk of contamination and easier handling.
Pure-Pass sealing mats provide effective sealing with 96-well and 384-well plates. The slit version enhances sample recovery by reducing vacuum formation. We recommend using the slit version for small volumes and sensitive analysis.
